Atelier fabrication selles IDÉALE

HAND, HEART AND TOOL

__

We perpetuate the techniques transmitted by the craftsmen of the past, with the deepest respect for tradition and excellence of the French artisanal craftsmanship.

Each saddle is made with passion and the greatest attention to details. The combination of high quality materials and painstaking workmanship results in a long-lasting product that will acquire a unique patina.

17 precise manual operations and as many tools are needed to transform the leather into what will become an IDÉALE saddle.

The leather patterns are carefully studied and measured and then cut out following the natural characteristics and thicknesses of each hide according to a confidential cutting plan handed down by the elders.

The leather passes through 3 different moulds to obtain its final shape.

The serial number under each saddle corresponds to the rump used and the part of the rump from which the leather was taken.

This identification allows the thickness and firmness of each leather to be traced and thus to determine the most suitable saddle for each rider, according to his weight and preferences.

Selle IDÉALE rôdée main selon Rebour

__

Each saddle is hand broken in, following the procedure suggested by Daniel Rebour.

This manual process, taught by the two former workers who still held the secret, is performed before the leather is assembled on the frame. It allows for a significant reduction in the saddle's adaptation period.
